Grace Community School (GCS) is an interdenominational community school that educates children through a Christian philosophy of education. GCS recognizes that God through his Word, the Bible, is the absolute authority and basis for all truth. Under that authority we desire to work with the local church, the evangelical community and others who support our basic mission. With the Christian community we seek to assist Christian families in their Biblical responsibility to train their children to become Christ-like and to fulfill God’s purpose for their lives in the home church and society. Since we are an open enrollment school, we welcome families desiring entrance to GCS who are not attending church or do not have personal relationship with Jesus Christ. We invite them to GCS as an extended family member. It is our desire to introduce the student and their family to the Bible. It is our hope through invitation and not by dictation that they would develop a personal relationship with the Lord and become part of the body of Christ.

GCS is a ministry supported by parents and the church community. We are in the ministry of serving the Lord by working side by side with parents and their children. It is our purpose to provide a high quality Christian-based education for every child. It is our purpose to introduce parents and children to the Lord. It is our purpose to develop a relationship with parents that honors the Lord and fosters the body of Christ.

  1. At GCS we believe that God has a plan for each student’s life. Most importantly, God desires the student to have a personal relationship with Him. Therefore, we not only seek to introduce the student to God, but to assist the student in finding the will of God for their life.
  2. GCS believes that God is the source of all wisdom, knowledge and truth. All truth is God’s truth. Therefore, excellence is achieved by using an academically and Biblically sound curriculum. An education that is filtered through the Bible answers the question, “Who is God?” The Bible states in John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that he gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” A Christian based education reveals to the student that God provides an eternal and an abundant life to those who believe in the Lord Jesus. Jesus said, I am come that they might have life and that they may have it more abundantly.” (John 10:10). The Bible holds the answers to the questions of life on earth and in Heaven.
  3. The Bible states in Proverbs 22:6 “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” Our desire is to impart to the student an education that is practical and that it may be a functional part of their life. An education that is God-honoring and built on Biblical principles is an education that will truly prepare them for the world as God has planned for them. Therefore, excellence is achieved by using a curriculum that is filtered through the Bible and as result, offers a curriculum of very high standards.

We at GCS believe that an education without God is an education void of wisdom. As the Bible states in Colossians 2:3, “In whom {Jesus} are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge”. Knowledge for the sake of knowledge is not what we believe. Wisdom and knowledge about God and his creation is different than a secular education. A Christian based education is God centered and not man centered. We believe the Bible is the infallible Word of God. The Bible states God is the students’ Creator and desires to know the student through Jesus as their Savior. The Christian philosophy of education is designed to introduce the student to a Christian worldview. As a student spiritually matures we desire to train him as the Bible states “... unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ” (Ephesians: 4:13). With a Christian based education the student is educated as a unique individual who understands the true meaning of his existence. He understands that knowledge defines his world as God created. A Christian based education mentored by a teacher who role models a Christ-like example challenges the mind and heart. It is an education that impacts students to be more like Jesus.

The school has a basic doctrinal theology statement that is stated below. Parents do not have to be in agreement with the GCS statement. However, parents may not contest the doctrinal statement. Teachers must be in agreement with the Statement of Faith as stated.

  1. We believe the Bible to be the verbally inspired and only infallible, authoritative, inerrant Word of God. (II Timothy 3:16; II Peter 1:21).
  2. We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1:1, John 10:30, 37, 38).
  3. We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal in power and glory. (Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:23; Luke 1:35; Hebrews 4:15,7:25, 9:12; John 2:11, 11:25; Colossians 1:14; Acts 1:11; Revelation 19:11-16).
  4. We believe that man is sinful by nature and that regeneration by the Holy Spirit is essential and an absolute necessity for his salvation. (Romans. 3:19, 23; John 3:16-19, 5:25; Ephesians 2:8-10; Titus 3:5, 6).
  5. We believe in the continuing ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a Godly life. (Ephesians 4:30, 5:18; I Corinthians 3:16, 6:10-20).
  6. We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and lost; they who are saved unto eternal life and they who are not unto eternal damnation. (John 5:28, 29).
  7. We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ. (Romans 8:9, I Corinthians 12:12-13; Galatians 3:26-28).
  8. We believe in the creation of man by the direct act of God. (Genesis 1:26-28, 5:1-28).
  9. We believe that students are identified by biological sex. Biological sex means the biological condition of being male or female as determined at birth based on physical differences, or when necessary, at the chromosomal level.
  10. We believe that God wonderfully and immutably creates each person as male or female. These two distinct, complementary genders together reflect the image and nature of God. (Gen 1:26-27.) Rejection of one’s biological sex is a rejection of the image of God within that person. These two distinct, complementary genders together reflect the image and nature of God. (Gen 1:26-27.) Rejection of one’s biological sex is a rejection of the image of God within that person.
  11. We believe that the term “marriage” has only one meaning: the uniting of one man and one woman in a single, exclusive union, as delineated in Scripture. (Gen 2:18-25.) We believe that God intends sexual intimacy to occur only between a man and a woman who are married to each other. (1 Cor 6:18; 7:2-5; Heb 13:4.) We believe that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged in outside of a marriage between a man and a woman. We believe that any form of sexual immorality (including adultery, fornication, homosexual behavior, transgender, bisexual conduct, bestiality, incest, and use of pornography) is sinful and offensive to God. (MTT 15:18-20; I Cor. 6:9-10).
  12. We believe God offers redemption and restoration to all who confess and forsake their sin, seeking His mercy and forgiveness through Jesus Christ. (Acts 3:19-21;Rom. 10:9-10; I Cor 6:9-11.).

We offer a Christian based Curriculum named A-Beka Books published by Pensacola Christian College. A-Beka Books was developed through forty-five years of classroom experience by master teachers at Pensacola Christian Academy, one of America’s largest and most respected Christian day schools. A-Beka Books is used not only throughout United States but internationally as well. A-Beka starts in Kindergarten with a strong phonics based reading program with the introduction of cursive writing. The balance of the curriculum is challenging and is focused in reading, writing, mathematics, history, and science. When your child enters college, enters the work force, or starts a family, your child will be challenged and properly prepared by his or her years at GCS.

GCS is a chartered non-public school offering an “OPEN Enrollment Policy”. As an “Open Enrollment” school, you are welcome to apply to our school whether you attend church or not. As we explained earlier, we teach with a Christian philosophy of education and have guidelines for our admission policy.
